The market stalls in Notting Hill. A Brooklyn Italian grocer that’s been there longer than I’ve been alive. Once, in Providence, we stayed later than we should have just to split chicken and waffles at a little local spot.
London, New York, a town of four thousand people — doesn’t matter. The best part of anywhere is always the local, community-rooted business that makes it that place and nowhere else.
That’s the whole reason I do this work. I’d spent years in the online-business world — the founders, the funnels, the people selling courses about selling courses. But the businesses I actually gave a damn about were the ones I’d cross a city to find.
So it stopped making sense to keep pouring my best work into anything else.
I grew up in Rochester, spent some time in Indiana, and eventually did the thing you’re not supposed to do: I came back to Central New York and planted roots in Auburn. Since 2018 it’s home. And it’s full of exactly the kind of businesses I’d go out of my way for anywhere else, except now they’re down the street.
Half of why I started a second business just to write about them — Middle of Somewhere, a newsletter about the good stuff across the Finger Lakes and Central New York. Written, reliably, from a coffee shop.
So here’s where it all landed: I build websites and content strategy for the local businesses that do good for the communities they serve.

The work
Years of it: launches, brand systems and websites for businesses from scrappy-solo to multi-six-figure.
Right now
Still in the trenches, testing and building inside my own two businesses. I’m not teaching you what worked five years ago — I’m doing it today, and I’ll build you the version with less burnout and more breathing room.
Been at this since
The MySpace Top 8 era — tweaking HTML and picking profile songs before “personal brand” was even a phrase. Turns out that was the whole career; I just hadn’t named it yet.
Order of choice
Cold brew at my favorite local coffee shop (and yes, I’m judging). Iced tea at a restaurant — and if it’s not fresh, we have a problem.
Controversial ranking
I’ve tried every seltzer known to woman. Polar first, Tree House a close second. Not up for debate.
Possibly a superpower
I remember jingles after hearing them exactly once. (Occupational hazard.)
